CEMETS iLab Indiana 2024
This CEMETS iLab is set to support education reform in the state of Indiana.
The annual CEMETS Summer Institute is our flagship program. It is a reform lab for education systems. Our main goal is to provide reform leaders from all over the world with scientific input about re-engineering education systems, and to support countries in initiating and implementing education reforms with translational research.
Since 2023, we are using a hybrid format for the Summer Institute. It consists of three periods:
- An online preparation period: Learn about important topics through video lectures and other online content, and refine your own reform plan through a first case workshop on Zoom.
- A one-week event in Zurich, Switzerland: Work on your reform case through your in-person case workshop, attend lectures, go on site visits, and exchange with fellow reform leaders, apprentices, experts and practitioners.
- An implementation period: Put your implementation plan into action and share your progress in a final case workshop on Zoom.

The goal of the CEMETS Implementation Lab - or iLab - is to build capacity for reform implementation.
An iLab is specific to one state or country that has already sent a team of strategic leaders to the CEMETS Summer Institute. Using the reform plan those leaders developed, we design an iLab for teams of on-the-ground implementers to accelerate and align key projects.

About other institute types
Our CEMETS alumni are a unique community of worldwide reform leaders.
The CEMETS Alumni Institute in Zurich brings together individual alumni from the CEMETS Summer Institute to learn about the next level of theory and evidence, tackle shared strategic challenges, and develop an international community of education systems reform leaders. We highlight advanced showcases, presented by reform leaders. These demonstrate how to overcome implementation hurdles.
The next CEMETS Alumni Institute will be our 10-year anniversary institute in 2025.
After multiple teams from one country or region have attended the CEMETS Summer Institute and begun working on their individual reform plans, we typically see a need for strategic alignment across projects.
The CEMETS Advanced Institute serves teams of alumni from the CEMETS Summer Institute to help them align across individual projects for a regional or national strategy that accelerates all projects.
This institute focuses on developing a set of unified strategic goals and key priorities at the national or regional level.
